I come from the small, arid town of Nagaur in Western India, where henna has always been an integral part of festivals and weddings. I grew up watching my mother apply henna on herself and others during special occasions, and I began imitating her when I was just seven. ​

As the demands of school and studies increased, I drifted away from the art.

I earned my Master’s degree in Indian History in 2012 and moved to Canada in 2014. ​

It was at a local cultural event in Victoria that I saw an artist doing henna, and something stirred in me — I felt the urge to pick up the cone again.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate to create henna art for over 1,000 brides, friends, children, seniors, families, and students. Each experience has been unique, and I’ve truly enjoyed every one of them.​
